5 Fall Date Ideas ♡ In The Ottawa Area

Fall is the best season (don’t @ me). I know that Nick & I both thrive in the fall and we love going out and doing things during the season. The weather is perfect because the breeze feels so refreshing and we are both in significantly in better moods. That said, it is my favorite time of the year to go on fun dates, as there’s so much you can do outdoors! Here are 5 date ideas that Nick & I will definitely be doing this fall season (sorry not sorry Nick).

1. The Light’s Festival:

On October 12th, there is a lantern festival at Calabogie Peaks Resort. There is also a festival in Toronto this weekend (Sept. 21st) if you are in that area. Basically, everyone will be sending off lanterns in the night sky and it will be magical. I literally have been wanting to do this since I saw Tangled lol. This year, I am working with them (I am giving away free tickets on Instagram!) and they have kindly provided me with a discount code for you guys! Hope to see you there! xx

2. Apple Picking:

I know, I know. This isn’t a new date idea and everyone knows about going apple picking lol. YES, I agree. BUT, I just wanted to share with you some spots to go anyways. Nick & I went to Mountain Orchards last year, and enjoyed it much more than we thought we would. They also have amazing fresh doughnuts on weekends and it makes for cute pictures too! This is such a great date idea because you can then head home and bake apple pies. If that ain’t date goals, idk what is!

Here is a list of places near the Ottawa area: Mountain Orchards, Cannamore Orchard, Pinewood Orchard, Log Cabin Orchard, Orleans Fruit Farm, and much more!

3. Pumpkinferno:

I have yet visited the Pumpkinferno at the Upper Canada Village, but it is something I am DETERMINED to do this fall season. I have seen so many amazing photos of the festival and have heard great things. It’s basically a Christmas light festival for pumpkins. I can’t wait to see it for my own eyes this year. Pumpkinferno starts running on September 27th and ends October 27th . Check out the dates and times here.

4. Pumpkin Food Day:

Sounds strange right? It’s because I made it up. I just published a guide on 11 food items in Ottawa that are Pumpkin Spice flavored. If you love PSL’s as much as I do, grab your date (or bestie) and enjoy a day out trying all these pumpkin flavored treats before they’re gone! Check out the list of Pumpkin Spice Treats here.

5. Fall Picnic:

My best friends and I recently had a great end of summer picnic, but this is also a super cozy thing to do in the fall. You can bring some cozy blankets and watch the sunset by the water! I am hoping to plan one with Nick this fall and head to Mooney’s Bay to enjoy the sunset! Picnics are always fun to have and set up for too! I love that you can bring a variety of foods, such as sweet treats, charcuterie, sandwiches, fruit, veggies and dip, and even some hot cocoa!

I hope this article gave you some ideas for some fun dates this fall season and if this is for a first date, I wish you the best of luck! Fall is the best time of year if you ask me, so go out and enjoy this way too short of a season. Don’t forget to tag me when you post about these and share more date ideas in the comments! ♡
